Sa mga kapwa ko Pilipino, hindi ko na tatanungin kung
ano ang ibig sabihin ng salitang “Bastos”.
Ngunit sa mga banyagang hindi bihasa sa salitang Tagalog,
maraming ibig sabihin ang salitang “Bastos”.
Maaaring “bastos” ka sa pananamit o mahalay.
O kaya’y hindi marunong gumalang.
Pero dito, isa lang itong brand ng sigarilyo!
Opo, isang brand ng sigarilyo na hinihitit ninuman. Pero wala po dito nito.
Ang aking matalik na kaibigan ang nagbigay sa akin nito.
Siguro dahil ako’y BASTOS! he he he! 🙂

But for our foreign friends who don’t know Tagalog,

It can mean you’re an “obscene” dresser
or you disrespect the elders.
But here, it’s just one brand of cigarette!
Yep, just a brand of cigarette that anybody smoke. But it’s not available here.
My bestfriend gave it to me.

We have the same brand of cigarettes in Belgium… and of course nobody know the meaning of it.
I am not a smoker so I never realized it is a French brand (I now see it on your picture).
I’m sure you know the meaning of the word. 🙂 But I’m not sure if I translated it correctly.
Yeah, I saw a belgian version of that brand over Howie Severino‘s blog. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a belgian product. 🙂
